Outage r1-mci-us (mci1.us)
Jul 04, 2026

r1-mci-us (mci1.us) is not reachable, also bmc is not longer working. Might be a hardware issue. Support has been requested.

Please move to r2-mci-us until issue is resolved.

Prefix collector disabled
Jun 24, 2026

Hello,

we have disabled the prefix collector. Thus accepted, reject and filtered prefix will not be visible in the manager portal. Prefix collector generates a lot load on the routers which can cause some issues. We'll look into some optimization to bring this later back.

Static ips for North America region
Jun 17, 2026

I'm happy to announce that static ips are also available in North America region now. The manager has been updated as well to allow you to choose the region and afi for static ips. Static ips are only possible via sponsor tokens to cover the costs.

France/Paris extension with moji, nine-ix and Milkywan
Mar 02, 2026

Next News: New PoP in Paris (par1) is now live!

We’re super excited to announce that our network just got a major upgrade in France!

Thanks to the amazing support from our partners, we’ve activated a brand-new location (par1) in the City Nanterre (Paris region):

Colocation sponsored by → huge thanks to moji

IP Transit provided by → massive shoutout to MilkyWan

IXP connectivity & overall support → big props to nine-ix

The new point of presence runs on our own hardware and is connected directly to nine-ix with a solid 10G port. Route64 has also joined nine-ix with 10G – another step forward! With this addition we can now offer significantly better latency, higher redundancy, and much more capacity across France. Paris (and the surrounding region) is now much more reachable with top-tier performance.

A massive thank you goes out to: nine-ix – for the excellent IXP platform and all the help moji – for generously sponsoring the colocation MilkyWan – for the reliable and high-quality IP transit None of this would have been possible without you – you rock! We’re continuing to grow the network the way we love: together with friendly, competent, and like-minded partners. Got questions about the new PoP, routing, or want to give it a spin? Just reach out!

Planned maintenance: 06.01. and further (scheduled)
Jan 05, 2026

Maintenance: I plan to perform important software upgrades for stability on following routers one by one: ams1.nl, ams2.nl, mci1.us, mci2.us, fra2.de, fra3.de, yyz1.us, frm1.us ash1.us, arn1.se. I will start with ams1.nl (core ams) tomorrow (06.01.) in the evening (CET). Next following node will be announced shortly. I plan 2 hours for core nodes (software vendor change) and for edge nodes 1 hour (just software upgrade). After that ams1.nl and mci1.us will be also back in the game for tunnel, tunnelbroker, anycast tunnels and bgp sessions.

Additional location: Paris, France
Nov 10, 2025

Bonjour France! Route64 reached the France country and expanded to additional Europe country. We have configured and activated a new pop in Paris, France (par1.fr). This was able with the help of DYJIX SAS (https://dyjix.eu/) which provides the server and ip transit for our community. Merci Dyjix!

Planned maintenance: lon1.uk
Oct 17, 2025

Planned outage: Router lon1.uk must be upgraded. This will cause an interruption for at least 2 hours starting this evening 17.10.25 CEST.

Sponsor level feature
Aug 12, 2025

Hey,

we have improved the manager portal over the last few weeks and enabled a great new feature called Sponsor Level. This cool feature allows additional functions in the future.

Now, you can increase your user limits for ASNs, BGP tunnel, tunnelbroker,.. via a few clicks. You only need to have some sponsor tokens left to increase the limits for a month. There are some levels available where you can easily up and downgrade your account.

During this change we adjusted the default limits for all users to prevent high abnormal usage and abuse. But, you can increase your limits as required.

Unplanned migration yyz1.ca, lon1.uk and fra2.de (before fra2.de)
Mar 26, 2025

Bad news again, I got the notice from the provider of yyz1.ca, fra1.de (now fra2.de) and lon1.uk that they might shutdown the company. The situation is unclear at their side, but I got some notification that there supplier will cancel the service to them.

So, we have to plan an unplanned migration of yyz1.ca, fra1.de (now fra2.de) and lon1.uk to newer systems. This will affect the tunnel endpoint ip and must be changed on your side.

Fra1.de already has an alternative node. Tunnels and sessions of fra1.de (now fra2.de) will be migrated. You have to change the tunnel endpoint ip on your side. There will be a message when this will be happen. yyz1.ca and lon1.uk requires an successor. I already order replacements for yyz1.ca and lon1.uk.

Sorry for this unplanned change.
