NEWS
Additional location: Paris, France
Bonjour France! Route64 reached the France country and expanded to additional Europe country. We have configured and activated a new pop in Paris, France (par1.fr). This was able with the help of DYJIX SAS (https://dyjix.eu/) which provides the server and ip transit for our community. Merci Dyjix!
Planned maintenance: lon1.uk
Planned outage: Router lon1.uk must be upgraded. This will cause an interruption for at least 2 hours starting this evening 17.10.25 CEST.
Sponsor level feature
Hey,
we have improved the manager portal over the last few weeks and enabled a great new feature called Sponsor Level. This cool feature allows additional functions in the future.
Now, you can increase your user limits for ASNs, BGP tunnel, tunnelbroker,.. via a few clicks. You only need to have some sponsor tokens left to increase the limits for a month. There are some levels available where you can easily up and downgrade your account.
During this change we adjusted the default limits for all users to prevent high abnormal usage and abuse. But, you can increase your limits as required.
Unplanned migration yyz1.ca, lon1.uk and fra2.de (before fra2.de)
Bad news again, I got the notice from the provider of yyz1.ca, fra1.de (now fra2.de) and lon1.uk that they might shutdown the company. The situation is unclear at their side, but I got some notification that there supplier will cancel the service to them.
So, we have to plan an unplanned migration of yyz1.ca, fra1.de (now fra2.de) and lon1.uk to newer systems. This will affect the tunnel endpoint ip and must be changed on your side.
Fra1.de already has an alternative node. Tunnels and sessions of fra1.de (now fra2.de) will be migrated. You have to change the tunnel endpoint ip on your side. There will be a message when this will be happen. yyz1.ca and lon1.uk requires an successor. I already order replacements for yyz1.ca and lon1.uk.
Sorry for this unplanned change.

Joining PITER-IX FRA sponsored by Piter-IX Co. Ltd.
Great news, for today! We are heading to the east and expanding in this direction. We got an sponsored IX port from PITER-IX FRA at NIKHEF. The guys from PITER-IX (Piter-IX Co. Ltd.) are sponsoring the port and I organized the cross-connect. This port increases the access and capacity to networks of the east and allows us to exchange traffic directly swith them. We are very happy that PITER-IX is doing the sponsoring and thanking them for their support. If you are looking for IX ports, check them out!
Closing node kcm1.us
Node [kcm1.us] is completely down including connections to SIX and GCP. I haven’t got any reply from the sponsor, so sponsoring of this node ends as it looks like. It was great and thanks for the sponsoring!
I will remove all tunnels and connections within the next few days.
Currently, I looking for replacement within Kansas City including the option for IXP access. If you can sponsor a node at Kansas City with connection to SIX please reach me out (j@route64.org).
New sponsor: Macarne LLC (IP Transit)
Great news: We are happy to announce that ROUTE64 got found an additional infrastructure sponsor. Macarne LLC (https://macarne.com/) has joined the ROUTE64 community and sponsors IPv4 and IPv6 transit at Amsterdam, Netherlands. The connectivity via Macarne LLC has massively improved the traffic mix within ROUTE64. For example just one AS between ROUTE64 and DTAG. Enjoy it. Do you looking for great IP transit, Ethernet services or L2 transport. Just get with them in contact!
Manager version update
Rollout of a new version of the manager has been done.
Main topics of this change:
- Realtime tunnel / tunnelbroker operations. All tunnel / tunnelbroker operations on router side are processed in realtime. Get realtime data of your tunnel creation states - detailed states of tunnel operation. No need to wait few minutes until tunnel is configured. Click and wait until state changed to Active (few seconds).
- Templates fixed for messages.
